The time of year so many of us love ‘Officially’ began today! On the beautiful southern shore of Lake Erie, it’s a cool 62 degrees, cloudy, and a little windy. Perfect football weather, I’d say. We’ll be putting pumpkins, mums, and scarecrows out on the porch this week. I have already asked hubby to put up our Halloween flag on the flagpole; fortunately, for me, he loves Fall as much as I do!
It’s been a few months since I’ve updated my blog and much has happened here at the castle. We have expanded our line of products to include handmade goat’s milk soap available in a variety of fragrances. We hand make the soaps here and will soon be listing additional fragrances on our website, including some that would be suitable for the men in your life. These make wonderful Christmas gifts and are very reasonably priced. We hope you check them out and love them as much as we do!
In May, we made an addition to our family. We now have ‘Good Golly Ms. Molly of Fluffy Butt’, a purebred Maltese puppy . She definitely keeps us on our toes….I think we both had forgotten what it was like to have a puppy around. AND it’s been 11 years since we’ve had a puppy. Phew! Sometimes, all I can say is ‘it’s a good thing she’s so darn cute!’. LOL.
We are looking forward to the new stitching year. This last quarter of this year is going to be kind of slow stitching for me. I am scheduled for a big back surgery October 23. I will be having a multi-level spinal fusion that includes 8 screws, 2 cages, and 2 titanium rods. So, I will be moving pretty slow for a while and ask your patience in filling orders. We will do our best to get your orders out timely, as usual, but I don’t know exactly what to expect as far as recovery goes. I’ll be counting heavily on the ‘Peddler’ to stand in for me. Additionally, my 84 year old mother is in Hospice care and not doing well. She fell toward the end of July and had a hip replacement. She has terminal lung cancer and COPD also. Unfortunately, she has been on a steady decline since her hip replacement. Prayers for her are very much appreciated.
In 2019, we are planning on offering more patterns with a ‘kit’ option. We are aware of the decline in local needlework shops, and the need for you all to have access to fabrics and threads to complete your project. Remember, we can make most any pattern into a kit. We have brought in quite a few of the very popular Shepherd’s Bush kits for you. They can be found on our website by searching for ‘Shepherd’s Bush’ in the search field. Below is ‘Making Spirits Bright’, one of the kits . Isn’t it adorable?
Until next time, friends, be kind to each other.
